One of the highlights of my day yesterday was receiving these flowers from a man who was not my husband.
As much as I’d like to start a Bridges of Madison County-esque tale here, it wasn’t anything scandalous. “Mr. Ciao,” as we like to call him, is one of the flower and vegetable vendors at our neighborhood farmer’s market, and he gave them to me when we went to say hello to him and his wife after not seeing them since the market ended for the season last winter. He’s always been gracious, and it was lovely to receive these even when he knew we weren’t going to buy anything from him. That’s what I love about neighborhood farmer’s markets – the human connections, the friendly faces.
These flowers look just like the paper flowers I made for a budget Charlie Brown like Christmas tree a few years back.
