30 Days of Photos: Day 21

April 10, 2012:

I stare at this map in our living room almost every single day. My husband and I have lately been having a lot of discussions about travel. For me, world travel: Peru, Italy, Ireland, England, Denmark, France, Spain, Korea, Switzerland, to name a few. The call has been strong. I’ve been stumbling on all these bloggers who’ve made sudden decisions to take a year or two off to travel around the world. They put their belongings in storage, quit their jobs, and just went to see the world. I watch House Hunters International to get a sense of how much rent is in other countries. I’ve been making my travel bucket list. I’ve been reading travel writings. I’ve been daydreaming about how I’d feel to see places like the Machu Picchu for the first time. But it’s complicated. And then there’s always the money issues. Will I ever get to see a tiny portion of this world before it’s too late?
